1917 (16 Sept.) Kobdo - A red band cover from Kobdo registered to Peking, on reverse bearing Russian Arms 1909 10k deep
blue in single and vertical pair, each tied by very fine strike double ring 'KOBDO/16.9.17' Russian P.O in Mongolia cds, type
1A (Hellrigl rated RR) With the same cds alongside, plus a Mongolia censor sealed label and Russian censor chop in violet box,
bilingual 'PEKING/19.11.17' arrival cds with char. index '9', on front with 'PEKING/6.11.17' Russian.P.O transit, and bilingual

The Kobdo post office opened in 1913 and closed in 1924. There were previously 4 recorded covers bearing the KODBO cancellation,
this new discovery is the 5th recorded. Photo.
